Blog Gadgets/Widgets
I love gadgets. Their technical term is widgets, but I particularly like Google Gadgets. In Google alone, there are over 40,000 to choose from. That does not include all of the widgets that Yahoo has too. There is a widget for just about everything. The widgets I have incorporated on our blog were chosen because they help me connect with visitors. For instance, there is a live chat feature on this blog. Visitors can chat with me if I am online. What a great way to show instant support to visitors who have questions about something they have read.
I have also included a YouTube video feed. I found some informative videos on marketing, PR and social media that I felt were valuable to readers of this blog.
My favorite is the recent visitors map from FEEDJIT. This is more for me, but it is fun to look at too. It shows where traffic is coming from to this blog.
If for some reason you cannot find a Google Gadget you like out of the tens of thousands that are available, lol, you can create your own. There is a simple way to do this and a not so simple way. If you do not know xml coding, then I suggest using Google's wizard to create one. I am in the process of creating a gadget that will offer weekly Book Publicity Tips. I am learning more about syndicating it now and registering it in Google's directory. It seems like a great push social marketing strategy. I will keep you posted.
I would also love to hear from readers about their favorite widgets/gadgets!

I don't know if this is a gadget, but I love Constant Contact. I do a Eblat everyday and call it the "Newswire" because I give good info everyday and help my clients get the word out.
Hi Pam - thanks for your comment. You are correct, Constant Contact is not a gadget, but they do offer a great email blast service. We use their technology as well. Thanks for sharing! Traci
Looking forward to seeing the Publicity Tips gadget. Please keep us all updated as to when it will be launched so we can get our hands on it.
